Not feeling so hot

So I got up this morning and went to work the desk. Yay. That's about all. I went to the apartment after that and showered. Then I went to target to get Easter stuff for the peeps. Then I drove back to the boro. I had a strange conversation on the way with Laura. I was calling her to ask her if she wanted to do something outside but she was already going fishing with her ex-boyfriend. What is that? She complains I never want to do anything and then when I offer she has plans. With him of all people. "I'll call you later...about six or so. " It's 6:18...haven't heard from her. I want to trust her but at the same time I have to wonder why in the past week she's spent more time with him than me. I know we've both been busy but she's talking to him more, and seeing him more. I feel I might be playing the fool here.

Wow, so other than that...not a whole lot going on today.

Sully shirts, and goat chasing...

Malissa came to the boro yesterday and brought the sully dog with her. We went to wal-mart and got t-shirts and made Sully shirts since I have acquired the ability to draw the dog as a cartoon character. After wal-mart, Brian ordered us a pizza (at a discount cause he got the hook-up), and we went to the cingular store to straighten some crap out while waiting on the pizza. It turned out we were there for like half an hour. But I finally got the ringtone I downloaded a month and a half ago. Crackers. Um...yeah, so my parents tried to move the goats from the lower pasture to the upper pasture...and two of the babies wouldn't go...we got one of them to go, but the other one was being a bastard. I had to chase him all over the pasture and catch him. It was tiring, but also funny. Stupid goats.

I was trying to have a relaxing day at home, but the mother wouldn't stop harassing me about this , that and the other...anyway, malissa and I played scrabble for a while and she beat me...definitely beat me the first game. I slaughtered her the second game...with words like "catpiss" (wait, that's two words, eh...who cares it was funny). Brian just told me to slow down typing because he's trying to sleep and apparently my typing is just too terribly fast and loud for him to focus on relaxing. "cant you see I'm trying to relax here?" --blah.

Went to run this morning. 8.5 miles...in 80 degree heat...that's the hottest weather I've run in this year. It's crazy. It was so hot.

sidenotes:

1. No, I'm not coming to Dallas.
2. Seriously, I'm not going to Dallas.
3. Brian found a puppy. It's a golden retriever/lab mix...it pissed on my foot yesterday. It was my first encounter with the dog. I don't like it. He wants to name it Twix (since our other dog is named Snickers) But dad and I are calling it Copper.
4. This is the last no meat friday.
5. Laura finally sent me a text message (woo-hoo? what? wait...I deserve more)
6. Chocolate milk+8.5 miles+80 degrees= runny poo
7. Sully ran free on the goat farm.

Like a wet rag...hung out to dry

What does it mean when you send text messages, leave voice messages...all the time and your girlfriend doesn't call you back...EVER. It's a little frustrating to only talk to Laura when it's convenient for her to talk. She could at least pick up the phone and tell me she's busy, or that she doesn't want to talk. I don't think that's a lot to ask.

So it's 7AM and I'm at work. I noticed some cool links on Joe's (Ybarra no apostrophe)blog. I gotta say those are pretty entertaining when you're sitting at a desk in a residence hall that has like 4 people living in it. NOTHING IS GOING ON HERE AT ALL>>>>

I am ENJOYING a coca-cola classic.

Alston just called to ask when he's supposed to come into work. What kinda color crayon is "blue violet"....aren't all violets a little blue? GAH! Those crapheads at crayola should just stick to the basic 8 pack of colors. I mean that's the most awesome thing ever...8 crayons in a box. Give me a coloring book and 8 crayons in a box...I'll be happy all the days of my life.(They'd have to be good crayons though. I hate the cheap ones you get at the dollar store.)

I had a nice long chat with Leslie last night. That was pretty cool. Don't think I've ever mentioned her in the short history of this blog...yeah, there's a girl named Leslie.

On to a new subject.

Anyone ever listen to the Counting Crows? They're a good band. And they all have such wholesome American names like Ben,Adam,Charlie,MATT---I dunno...I dunno why I said that.

I wonder what's going on with Dovers. I wonder if he's pawned everything he owns and is out of his financial trouble...I'd know but he never updates his blog.

Sidenotes:

1. Today Joe Ybarra is the champion of everyone's hearts.(I don't care what you say, he totally is...so just sit back and take it in the beeb.)

2. I miss Courtney. Wonder what she's doin now.

3. I am listening to Heart's "Crazy On You"

4. Justin Pruitt is still MIA...said he was going to the beach...I ain't heard from him since...this was Sunday.

5. Malissa is getting ANOTHER wake up call in about 7 minutes.

6. I woke up at 3AM last night feeling hot and like I was going to puke.

Rainy days and Tuesdays...

So, I got up and came to work Tuesday morning. 7AM during spring break...that's a load of fun. Worked till 10. Malissa and I went to McDonald's for breakfast (it was actually supposed to be lunch but they weren't serving it yet...WTF?) Anyway, came back and watched some smallville. I left NCRH just in time to experience the strong gusts of wind that were bringing the storms in. Then I drove to the Boro...through the perilous rain@80MPH...I don't care...I'm a thrillseeker...ok no, I didn't go 80 the whole time but I made pretty good time.

Me and the Y'bro (Youngerbrother) went to Burger King. Got dad a whopper Jr. w/cheese. Good times. Then I went outside to take pictures. Mr. Rufus (the dog) lost his collar. It's kinda sad cause he's had it like 5 years or something. Anyway, dad and I went to the shop in the upstairs of the barn and he worked on his Mandolin while I waited on Laura to get there.

When Laura got to the house we went and walked through the muddy, nasty, woods...it was a lot of fun and we took some cool pictures. I found a jawbone...it was pretty big, but don't worry the teeth are definitely not human. Wait...this could mean a world of bad things...what if the jawbone is from a predator? And even worse what if it is from the fiercest and most stealthy of the predators....the predatory deer?

When the walk was over we went back to the house and my mom made me scrambled eggs, bacon, and biscuits. Laura tried a butter and sugar biscuit...she was totally impressed. After we ate we went to wal-mart to get Easter candy for her cousins. I got a loaf of white bread (flippin parents stopped eating white bread...I mean what the hell? We eat it all my life and I leave for like 3 years and life changes SOOOOOOooooo drastically) I also got some sliced mild cheddar, and some chocolate milk. YES!

Laura stopped by Arby's...I got a chocolate shake (but it turned out to be vanilla...beeboheads)....then we came back to the house and watched TV.

I went to bed about 12:30 or so...it was nice. I got up at like 8 and ran. Buh. Anyway, now it's noon and I'm at work till 6.

Sidenotes:

1. do not rent "Open Water"---it sucks like a prostitute with no teeth.

2. I do not recommend "The Big Bounce"---it just wasn't up to Owen Wilson's best work.

3. jaredgeorge.blogspot.com needs to update his friggin journal

4. I bet I win 3 games of scrabble before this day is over.

5. Alston has to change 54 light bulbs. This should take him approximately 6 hours.

6. Briars are pretty good at leaving scratches.

Wow, it's been a while...

I believe I successfully handled the stress placed on me and the workload with all those tests...but we'll have to wait to find out about that later. As Spring break began after my last class thursday.

Friday I got up and made some cheese toast. It was heaven, almost like west virginia. Yeah, West Virginia. Pruitt and I went on some errands so he could buy some discs for disc golf. As if he needed new discs. Anyway, he took like a flippin hour cause he couldn't make a decision on what he wanted. He's such a woman. And I was getting ancy because we had to be at Spragins to leave for the 10k and the Alabama relays at 12:30...

So we get there and it's just seven people going to the relays, so we have a rental TAHOE, but the problem is that seven people 3 of which were girls, and the baggage...there was just not enough room. SO we strapped the bags to the top of the car. This was a mistake as we didn't secure them well enough. We almost got to Madison before we decided to stop at Walmart and get some more ties to keep the bags secured. Anyway, we went to Tuscaloosa. No big deal with that. Linda ran the 10k first and PRed by like a minute and 22 seconds...that was awesome. Then Zach, Cody, and I ran. We all ran really well. I was the only one that didn't PR, but I did break the 10k UAH school record (previously held by myself with a 33:58) I ran a 33:25. The reason it was a faster record but it wasn't a PR is because I've run faster times in Cross-country...and this was track. Two completely different things.

So then we all piled back in the Tahoe after the race. We didn't bother to put the bags on the top this time. We just piled it all in and prayed we could shut the doors. It was quite uncomfortable. We went to the hotel (lovely Best Western on McFarland, just off the interstate...I mean lovely because it was noisey all night from the interstate)....we showered (seperately, not together) and then went to Pruitt's aunt's house for dinner. Wonderful it was. And we listened to David Bowie and Bruce Springsteen on Vinyl...it was great. Then we went back to the hotel and watched some march madness, and went to sleep.

Saturday we got up and went to the meet. We met up with the rest of the team there since they came down on the bus that morning. Caitlin and Megan ran PRs in the 5k and also ran provisional times for DII nationals. York and Pruitt both PRed in the 5k. The day was fun because I didn't have to compete. Zach, Cody, Linda, and I went on an easy run of about 5 miles through the UofA campus...that was a lot of fun. Especially with all the tailgating from the A-day game, gymnastics meet, Baseball vs. Kentucky, and the Relays going on. Then Mader and I went to the Paul W. Bryant Museum and I bought postcards. It was truly a Roll Tide weekend in full swing. After the meet we came back to the Hotel. A lot of people went to O'charlie's but Mader and I ordered a pizza. IT was the best pizza I ever had.

Sunday morning we got up at 9:30 or so and started packing up since we wouldn't be coming back to the hotel from the meet. We pulled out about 11 and were looking forward to a wonderful day of relay/team based competition. The 4x8 ran awesome (7:57) it was a new school record. Mark started them off with at 1:54 split. Not too shabby. And for a majority of the race they were hanging in there right with Bama and Miss St.---it was awesome. The 4x1500 also set a school record. I was third leg, I got a little excited and ran a 60 on my first lap. It's a wonder I held on so well. I ended up running a 4:15 split. Not the fastest split, but not the slowest either. I was not the King of the 4x1500. Anyway, everyone on the team ran awesome. It was an awesome meet, and we ended up winning the Non-DI competition, on the boys and girls side. The ride back in the Tahoe was awesome. It was just me, Cody, and Coach. We left Tuscaloosa at 6PM and made it back to Huntsville at 7:50...we were flying.

Just some random thoughts:

Am I not supposed to have what I want? I wish people wouldn't try to make me feel guilty about the way I feel.

Why is it so hard to be a good friend? I feel like someone is trying to put me in a role I don't want to be in. I want to help but I dont know how.

I've just realized the peril I am in

Truly, I am in grave danger...

I have to read this book, write a 4-5 page review on it by Wednesday afternoon. I have an elaborate take home test in ED 416 due Thursday. I have another take home test due Thursday in American government. I have a Macroeconomics test Thursday. I have begun to work on none of this.

Truly I am in grave danger.

This is the schedule:
Monday evening....approx. 8:20 begin reading...till I drop. SLEEP.
Tuesday morning...get up run? (perhaps not if I stay up late) class at 9:35-2:05 pm, Practice 2:45, Shower 4:15-30, 4:35 begin writing American Gov exam, 6:45 hang with L?, 10:45ish...finish American gov exam. SLEEP.
Wednesday morning....practice@7:30, Shower@9:30, begin writing book review till I am done. Class@3:55....Class again@7....at 8:20 begin ED 416 take home test...whatever time left study for Macro test...SLEEP.
Thursday morning....TEST@9:35, turn in American gov test, turn in ED 416 test...practice @ 2:45.....

I am screwed.

I should try to write the book review without reading the book.

Any suggestions?

Shamrock Shufflin', talks with cingular, yardwork, etc.

So this morning I woke up and I was on the couch. I guess I fell asleep there. Strange. Anyway I got up and went to run the Kappa Delta Shamrock Shuffle. I won. By like 6 minutes...in a stunning time of 16:51! Ok, no really, that's slow but I got to the half way point and there was no one even close...I had no option but to slow down to a slight jog...Ok, I ran a little harder than a jog.

Anyway, I went back to the apartment...talked with the Laura a little while on the phone...took a shower...then went to Scottsboro. When I arrived at Scottsboro I went to the cingular store to get a problem straightened out...no big deal. "It should do this in 15-20 minutes"...only except it never did...so I had to call them back later and say, "What the heck man?" They gave me some crazy answer...we'll see if what they say comes true.

After the cingular store I went to the ATM in Foodworld, got some money, went to movie gallery and rented Eulogy. My next move was McDonalds...badabahbahbah...THEN ONWARD TO THE WILSON HOMESTEAD.

I was greeted by many goats (even though on my way I got fed up with the radio cause it was playing nothing but crap and I turned it off). I ate my McDonalds...badabahbahbah...then I spread some mulch (pine bark?) in my mom's flower beds... I know...I know...I'm such an awesome son.

Anyway, now I'm hanging around in my little brother's room. Him and his friends are playing "magic the gathering"....so lame....anyway....I told him they might as well play DUNGEONS AND DRAGONS! SATAN'S GAME!!!!

"I am galstaff, sorcerer of light!" ---"hey can I have a mountain dew? WHERE ARE THE CHEETOS?!!!" *in the nerdiest voice ever*

Kelsey was the DM, then Kelly, NOW MIRANDA is the DUNGEON MASTER!

This just in: my younger brother actually has a Disney's aladin box of kleenex...an actual quote: "hey, don't be dissin on aladin...he's awesome."

I am stunned...shocking. SHOCKING. I never took him to be a person that needed kleenex.

Sully wanted to chase me this morning...I could tell. He wanted to be freed from his shackles and Malissa's lies...free to roam the campus and urinate on whatever he pleases...and chase down and KILL any unfortunate pigbeaver to come his way...oh the majesty of the proud pigbeaver.

Someone leave me a friggin comment for the love!

Headaches...

So I got a letter today, proclaiming that I am unfortunately not a conference assisstant (a job I desperately wanted so that I wouldn't have to return to the boro this summer).

I've got a headache and it's name is University Housing.

It's crazy how you can bend over backwards trying to make people happy and nothing ever is good enough for them. Well, I'm through trying. Here's my letter to them.

Dear University Housing,

I get the point.

Sincerely,
Matt

Regardless, they are too stupid to realize what potential I possess. They are unfortunate to not have me. I am the most awesome applicant ever...whether they want to admit that or not.

My day...

I got up this morning and went to track practice. It was really windy. There was only 100 meters of the track where I didn't get hit by wind. It almost knocked me over the gusts were so EXTREME. We had 5x1200m @3:45 (400 Jog/4min rest between each one)...I had a so so day...with times of 3:49,3:45,3:41,3:52,3:49...yes...I am suck.

So I came home and showered, then went and hung out with the guys in NCRH 216 for a little while before they went to play "frolf"...it was time well spent with my teammates. Then Malissa and I went on the paycheck errands....which involves picking up the checks/depositing them/spending them....I got a new pair of sunglasses today. AVIATORS...I needed them too...because I wasn't kidding about the headache...I really do have one. Anyway, it's about 4:15 and I'm back at my apartment....I think I'm just gonna hang out here and rest tonight....I feel like some alone time....and that's for sure what I'm gonna get....I think.

Drop me a line in the comments you beeboheads.

My run

So I'm running across South Memorial Parkway in Huntsville, and I pass under the overpass...and all these pidgeons come flying at me...I was so surprised. They've never flown at me before. It was like being in a war...and I had no gun or something. Anyway, none of them dropped on me and I continued on my way. Running along Airport Rd...wow, it was so windy today. It was like I was running in place sometimes. It made me pretty tired, but since I'm a stallion I was able to continue on my 8 mile conquest of the running park. I encountered several other barriers in my trek toward exhaustion: 1. a fallen tree across the path (I almost didn't realize it until too late) So I jumped the tree...like a stealthy ninja ready for combat. 2. This fly flew right into my eye. I know...stupid flies comin around in March...that's what I get for trying to run in Alabama. 3. The rain from the previous day left the hill on the backside of the course sloppy muddy wet...and I almost fell down going down the hill, and coming up the hill...it was slow goin. 4. One of those police dogs was loose (there's a K-9 unit training facility right beside the course) and it was runnin around everywhere...scary stuff. Especially since they are trained to attack people that are running away. I hear that police dogs also are trained to do racial profiling...and PROFILING IS WRONG...but what would I know about that? I'm male, middle-class, and white...fairly clean cut...so I can get away with just about anything. Oh yeah, back to the perils of the running park. 4. On my way back to the apartment I encountered a golf ball landing right infront of me (the running park is also beside the municiple golf course) anyway, it scared the poo outta me...I mean if if had hit me I'd have died. Finally after 52 minutes of wonderful running through many perils and tests...I made it back to the apartment.

There I found Justin Pruitt dining on peanut butter and raisins. GROSS. Then he proceeded to eat pickles and olives out of the jars in the refridgerator...so if you come over and he offers you an olive or a pickle or some nutella, don't eat it cause he's been putting his hand in the jar, and he also drinks the pickle/olive juice from the jar. I'm just giving you a warning.

York told me about some crazy school in Kentucky or something...you should ask him about it. He's on AIM BXCountry03 I think...anyway...yeah.

What is that song that's on all those commercials...it's so annoying and I have no idea what it is.

Anyway, I'm just going to chill out at the apartment tonight. Nothing going on since Laura is sick and all. Man I hope I don't get it. That'd be crazy...crazy bad.

I miss the Sully dog. He is the master of the universe, so much cooler than HeMAN. Sully doesn't need a stupid green tiger...all he needs is his rawhide bone. And perhaps a gallon or two of water to wash down the food he doesn't chew...all so he can yack on Malissa's carpet. That darn dog.

Today...

Joe Ybarra called me a "Jewish Muslim"...I'm not sure what that term means, but I'm almost sure he's racist toward people that aren't from Michigan. Apparently he's upset that I haven't mentioned his Anti-blog in my top 8 lists...EVER. I apologize Joe. I most certainly didn't mean to offend you or your Anti-blog.

Today I got up and went to Macroeconomics. It was a complete waste of time. Then I skipped my next class because it just doesn't fascinate me to listen to my professor say the same stupid crap every day...which is what that class is. So I went and bugged Malissa and we went to Burger King for lunch. Then I was going to go to my next class, but I got there and it was not in session...prof is out of town or something. So I had only one class today, and it got out early. Shame on me...but it is a lot of fun to start your weekend Thursday morning. In your face to all the people that have Friday classes.

I feel bad though. I have like a billion things to do before next Thursday. I'll have to get cracking on them pretty soon if I want to get them all done. It's so stupid that just because it's the Thursday before SPRING BREAK that all my teachers think they should make everything due at the same time. I have a major project or test in every class all due on the same stupid day. What is that about?

Random stuff:

What IS CORK? I mean what's it made of? And why is it so nice and squishy? Another point of interest: I see people driving cars with dents in the fenders or bumpers missing (signs of obvious wrecks, or just bad driving in general) and I think "holy crap! I'm driving next to this person and they have had a wreck...what if they hit me? What if they are the most horrible driver in the world?" .......but that's a bit strange.

Today is Retha's birthday. Happy birthday Retha.

James Edward Guthrie once said, "I am nature's master stroke." And in all seriousness, I believe him.

Jared, where's the post about your hometown? If you don't put it up soon, you'll regret it.

I saw Zach running today. He looked like a wild gazelle.

My first post...this is just a fad

EVERYONE IS DOING IT...why can't I?

So anyway, this is my first post. Really exciting I know. Look out for midgets and antique furniture. They'll sneak up on you (there's one on your leg right now Jared George Dovers). So I am inspired by my other faddish friends to create a blog. I had one of these things before...but I just can't seem to remember how to use the first one...eh...time for new memories anyway.

So...unlike certain inhabitants of Texas that go to school at a certain Southern Methodist University...I do not throw away my claims to my Scottsborian heritage...rather...I embrace it. As the Ybarra once longed to embrace a Flarity. Jared, is this where you want to be when Jesus comes back? I expect a post in your blog about your hometown to be posted soon...or...well, I can't really do anything to you....but maybe I'll have some girl call you and tell you that you got her pregnant or something....something mean and completely false just to throw you back to your roots. Afterall, Scottsboro is the place where nobody knows your name, but everyone knows your business. I'm just kiddin with ya Jared...the worst I'd ever do to you is put some turbo lax in your coffee or something.

Leave me some comments so I'll stay interested.
